Volunteers needed for Spring Auction!
Volunteers are needed to help out with the 19th Annual Spring Auction on Thursday April 8, 2010. This is a great way to earn hours towards the KJF Summer Fellowship.

General Meeting to discuss Fellowships Weds., 3/10
KJF will be holding a general meeting Wednesday, March 10, from 3 to 4 p.m. in room 370. We will be discussing the Summer Fellowship Program: how to apply, the evaluation criteria, and important deadlines. If you are interested in obtaining a KJF Fellowship this summer, you don't want to miss this meeting!
Valentine's "Crush" / Bake Sale!
Do you have a crush on that cutie in your Property class? How about that sweetie in Trial Ad? Here is your chance to send some bubbly love to the object of your affection!! The VALENTINE'S "CRUSH" / BAKE SALE is Wednesday, Feb. 10, 9 a.m. to 6 p.m., in the Kent Lobby.

General Meeting Tues., 2/9, at noon & 5 p.m.
KJF will be having its first general meeting of the spring this Tuesday, Feb. 9, at noon in room C25 and again at 5 p.m. in room C20. We will be discussing the Spring Auction and the many volunteer opportunities associated with this major fundraising event. Don't miss out on being a part of the largest on-campus event of the year.

Tax Assistance Program Training Weds., Feb. 10
Ladder Up's Tax Assistance Program (TAP) helps thousands of low-income Chicago families each year receive their maximum federal and state tax refund. Volunteers learn how to use TAP's tax preparation software and guide clients through the process, learning some marketable skills and making a huge difference in people's lives along the way. You will also get to chat and work with practicing Chicago attorneys doing pro bono work with TAP - a great networking opportunity!
Congratulations, Mustache Contest winners!
Congratulations to Dan Crone of Section B, the winner of the 2010 Oliver Wendell Holmes Mustache contest! Dan raised $194 dollars for KJF, all of which will go towards summer fellowships for students pursuing unpaid internships in the public interest. Coming in a close second was John Kresl of the Evening Division, who raised $192. Both Dan and John received gift certificates redeemable at either Brooks Brothers or Binny's Wine Depot.

The long-anticipated 2010 Oliver Wendell Holmes Mustache Contest is finally here! Contestants, report to room 590 at noon on Tuesday, Jan. 19, to present yourself to the High Commissioner, Professor Christopher Buccafusco, for the official photograph. Dressing like Oliver Wendell Holmes Jr. is optional but highly encouraged! *** All Kent students, faculty and staff are encouraged to attend. ***

General Meeting Wednesday, 11/4, at 3 p.m. in 590
KJF's next general meeting is this Wednesday, 11/4, at 3 p.m. in room 590. We will be discussing important final details regarding our upcoming Fall Fest Wine Event on Nov. 17. We need volunteers to sell tickets, bake items, serve alcohol, sell raffle tickets, and help with set-up and clean-up. This is a great way to earn some volunteer hours while also scoring a free ticket to one of Chicago-Kent's most enjoyable events! Hope to see you at the meeting!
